Identify the exact item
- Copy the catalogue code alongside the product name; similar names can refer to different models.
- For equipment, record the selected capacity, dimensions, controller and required accessories.
- For glassware and plasticware, specify capacity, material, graduation or joint specification where relevant.
- For chemicals, record the stated grade and pack size exactly. Ask for a matching item rather than assuming a similar name is equivalent.

Separate reference prices from the quotation
Use a price list to identify an item and its published reference price. Ask #CEC to confirm the current selling price, availability, taxes, freight and delivery terms in the written quotation before issuing your purchase order.

If a search has no match, submit the requirement for review; a missing website listing does not confirm availability.

Can I request an item that is not listed on the website?
Yes. Send the name, manufacturer or catalogue code and quantity through Request this requirement. #CEC will need to confirm whether it can be supplied.
Does downloading a price list place an order?
No. A download records your document interest. A quotation and your order confirmation are separate steps.
